Helpful Hints for your BOSCH Universal Plus Kitchen Machine:

The blender lid is also a tool to loosen the blender blades.  Line the notches on the underside of the lid with the wings on the bottom of the blender blades and turn to loosen.  Remove the blades frequently to wash, then put them back into the jar finger tight.  Replace the gasket about every 2-3 years or more frequently if needed.

After washing the bowl, leave it right side up to allow the water to drain out of the center post.  Do  not put it back on the drive base until it is completely dry.

You can keep the drives cleaned out with a cotton-tipped swab.

When washing the bowl, run water down through the center to flush it out well or remove the middle column by unlocking the bottom to clean more thoroughly.   The bowl is completely immersible.

Use the whips or batter whisks only on things that you are able to pour.  If you're making cookies, cream the sugar, SOFT butter and eggs with whips, then use the dough hook to mix in the remaining ingredients;  or, use the dough hook for the entire process.

When making pasta dough, use the wire whips.  Caution:  add flour all at once and do not stop & start your machine.  The dough will be too stiff for the whips if you do.  The dough should look like popped popcorn.

For whipped potatoes, put the whips in the bowl, add soft, fully cooked potatoes, cover, then turn on speed 1 to break them down.  Add milk, butter (softened), salt and pepper.  Whip on high speed for 10-15 seconds.

WHIP/WHISK Caution:   Wire whips and batter whisks are designed for whipping and mixing soft, pourable liquids and light batters.  Any heavy doughs, cookies, or cakes should be prepared using the dough hook (also called the kneading arm).

Do not  attempt to whip solid butter, stiff dough, partially cooked potatoes, or anything with those types of consistency.  The Bosch motor is so strong, it will bend the whip wires if the resistance is too stiff.
